Committed to preserving the foundations of winemaking, 21 Cellars strives to handcraft the finest limited production Washington wines.
21 Cellars is a boutique winery located in the North End of Tacoma, Washington producing less than 1,000 cases annually. Since inception, Winemakers Chloe Isabelle, Tatum Alexandra and reclusive Philip Coates (‘07 WSU Enology graduate) have dedicated their efforts to producing wines of extraordinary quality and structure; implementing both traditional and highly innovative winemaking techniques. Limiting exposure to mechanization all of our grapes are hand-harvested and laboriously hand-destemmed, they then go through an extended fermentation with manual pigéage for maximum extraction. Our wines then spend an average of 3 years in French oak barrels. We take pride in showcasing the finest characteristics of our vineyards; located in Red Mountain, Walla Walla, Horse Heaven Hills and Yakima Valley. In 2011 21 Cellars was named “Best New Wine” by Seattle Magazine.
